The Janus Pannonius Museum's adventure at the Ördögkatlan Festival has come to an end – a festival held under the banner of the 2026 Vasarely season. From 5 to 8 August, the Vasarely Island set up at the Kovács Manor House in Kisharsány welcomed festival-goers with optical illusions, exhibitions and collaborative art-making.

As we had hoped, the festival crowd embraced the artist’s work and the programme with real openness. We would also like to thank the University of Pécs Faculty of Music and Visual Arts for the partnership, and the venue, the Municipality of Kisharsány, and the organisers for their warm hospitality!

And the world of the op art master hasn’t closed its doors: the permanent exhibition at the Vasarely Museum Pécs and the jubilee year’s programme continue to welcome visitors all year round.

At the finissage on 15 October, we will also hear a talk by aesthetician Katalin Getto, curator of the exhibition, on the interplay between the art of Claire and Victor Vasarely.
