This year, MuseumStreet in Pécs offers visitors a special artistic encounter. To mark the Vasarely 2026 jubilee year, the permanent exhibition of the Janus Pannonius Múzeum’s Vasarely Múzeum has been renewed, while just a few steps away, the Museum Gallery is hosting “A Life in Colour”, the Claire Vasarely retrospective exhibition.
Together, the two exhibitions offer an experience that is genuinely rare: the creative worlds of Victor and Claire Vasarely can be discovered in a single walk. The couple’s artistic legacy enters into dialogue in Pécs’s MuseumStreet, where the story of the world-renowned master of op art and his creative partner unfolds side by side.
Claire Vasarely’s body of work can now be seen in this fullness for the first time. The exhibition includes all the works the couple entrusted to the Pécs museum, complemented by a selection of graphics, paintings, textile designs and archival photographs from the Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence.
The joint ticket allows visitors to discover the story of one of the 20th century’s best-known creative couples within a single cultural programme.
